Abstract: During the American Civil War "North vs. South", a group of five Northerners led by Cyrus Smith escaped from southern captivity with a balloon. Their balloon is driven by a whirlwind over the sea, where it is destroyed; The refugees are rescued on a desert island in the South Pacific Ocean, 2,000 km from the nearest inhabited place, the Polynesian islands. He will be called Lincoln Island in honor of US President and slavery fighter Abraham Lincoln. After ensuring a bare life, the castaways will use all their scientific and technical knowledge and the natural conditions of the island to build a comfortable residence.
