Abstract: The story describes an expedition to the North Sea, organized by the old sailor Jan Cornbutte to save his son Lewis. He did not return from the voyage of the Jeune-Hardie, because he and two other crew members disappeared when all three sailed in a sloop to the place where they intercepted the distress signal. Jan Cornbutt's fiancée, the son of his son Marie, and also the first officer from Jeune-Hardie, André Vasling, who is Louis in love, accompany the rescue expedition. The expedition first searches around the Faroe Islands, then searches the entire west coast of Norway as far as Bodø, and finally they headed to Cape Brewster. Here they manage to actually find the castaways, but Vasling proves to be a real villain. In order to get Maria for himself, he intends to murder Lewis. ...
