| Abstract: | Είναι πεζό έργο του Διονύσιου Σολωμού, το οποίο συνέγραψε κατά διαστήματα από το 1826 έως το 1833. Στο κείμενο, ο αφηγητής κάνει πρωτοπρόσωπη αφήγηση και είναι παρών ή αοράτως παρών σε όλη την έκταση της αφήγησης. Το θέμα του κειμένου αναφέρεται σε μια γυναίκα στην πόλη της Ζακύνθου, που μιλάει για την ασχήμια, την κακία της και την σκληρή συμπεριφορά απέναντι στις Μεσολογγίτισσες που είχαν καταφύγει στην Ζάκυνθο. Μας μιλάει και για το απροκάλυπτο μίσος της εναντίον της επαναστατημένης Ελλάδας, καθώς και για την μελλοντική τιμωρία της γυναίκας αυτής. Το έργο θεωρείται ημιτελές. Ο Σολωμός άρχισε να γράφει το έργο τον Απρίλιο του 1826 στη Ζάκυνθο σε ένα σχεδίασμα που ολοκλήρωσε στην Κέρκυρα τον Δεκέμβριο του 1829. Το δεύτερο άρχισε αμέσως μετά ως τον Νοέμβριο του 1833 και το τρίτο τον Δεκέμβριο του ίδιου χρόνου. |
