Abstract: The novel takes place in medieval Paris in 1482, during the reign of King Louis XI of France. (1461 - 1483). The author describes various social classes, from the king through the high clergy, the nobility and students to the social base (beggars, thieves, prostitutes). It also acquaints readers with the famous places of medieval Paris, but also with its small winding streets.
